Boolean search builder

Query ready? MiniSourcer takes the same criteria and finds scored candidates — you pay only for the ones that fit.
Find candidates in MiniSourcerHow to build a Boolean search, step by step
- Start with the job title. One role, not five — you can widen it later.
- Add the skills that are genuinely required as AND terms. Each one you add narrows the results.
- Add the skills that are “nice to have” as OR terms. One match is enough.
- Exclude the noise — “intern”, “junior”, “sales” — so unrelated profiles drop out.
- Switch on X-Ray mode to search LinkedIn profiles through Google, then copy the string.
What you cannot do with Boolean alone
A search string finds profiles, not candidates: someone still has to read each result, decide whether the person fits, and keep track of who was contacted. That is the part MiniSourcer takes over — it runs the search, scores each candidate against your criteria, and keeps the shortlist in one place.
Frequently asked questions
- Which operators does the builder use?
- AND to require, OR to accept any of several, NOT to exclude, and quotes around multi-word phrases so they are matched as one. The finished string works in LinkedIn, Google, and any Boolean-capable search box.
- What is Google X-Ray?
- It restricts a Google search to LinkedIn profile pages (site:linkedin.com/in) and strips job pages. Turn on X-Ray mode and the builder wraps your criteria in that restriction.
- Is my search saved anywhere?
- No. The string is generated in your browser and is never sent to a server or stored.
